It was the biggest corporate scandal America had ever seen. The “Most Innovative Company in America” was reduced to rubble in a few weeks. Tens of thousands of employees had their lives torn apart. Millions of Americans lost their faith in a system that, until then, had seemed secure. Everyone was left asking the question: “What exactly happened at Enron?” Playwright Lucy Prebble’s answer comes in this daring drama, through which, The Times exclaims, “The political theatre of the 21st century has arrived.” By theatrically exploding the smoke, mirrors, and mystery of the company’s world, ENRON dares us to reassess the question that the corporate giant was so famous for asking, “Why?”
